Welcome

A Principal's Welcome

Picture
Welcome to Kruse, an outstanding neighborhood school that also serves as an excellent school--of--choice option for those outside of our attendance area! Whether you are a present, former, or future student or parent, we are glad you have found us. Indeed, we encourage you to visit in person--especially if you are considering enrolling your child with us.

As you research Kruse, you will find that we have a reputation that is beyond reproach. Evidence of this assertion can be found in the fact that we have almost 100 “school--of--choice” students attending our school. We are rated as “high performing,” and “improving” according to the Colorado Department of Education. While these accolades are much appreciated, what is even more important to us is the fact that our kids and their parents are so happy with the high quality of education and the genuine sense of community that exist at Kruse (please see our “Attitude Survey” under the News & Events heading on this website for a more detailed analysis of how our students perceive our school).

There are several reasons Kruse is so highly regarded. We offer a continuum of services that meet the varied needs of all our students. Regardless of what academic environment students need to flourish, we can offer them the necessary support to learn and grow. Moderate needs cognitive, special education resource support, literacy lab supplemental service, excellent general education classroom instruction, and a variety of extension and acceleration opportunities--our GT coordinator is staffed at 3 times the PSD average--create an environment where students can focus on reaching their full potential.

Once you have been at Kruse for a short while, you will realize that we have a myriad of wonderful enrichment opportunities before, during, and after the school day. While you may choose to take advantage of several of these options, it is not our programs that make Kruse such a special place--it is our people. When you combine an involved, well-educated, and supportive parent community with a highly professional and dedicated staff, the result is obvious. That result is a tremendous group of kids, and we certainly have the best!

Thanks for your interest in our site, and, more importantly, in our school. We welcome any questions you may have and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Warmest regards,
Sean
